H&D Hobby Distributing was opened in 1981 to supply Canadian Hobby Shops with mainly Model Railroad products and Plastic Models. In 1985 they started to make an own custom run of Canadian model railroad cars under H&D's Own. This line is now called Trains Canada®.

Die “Esquimalt & Nanaimo Railway“ ist eine 160 km lange Strecke auf Vancouver Island, der größten kanadischen Insel im Pazific. Sie verbindet die Provinzhauptstadt Victoria über Courtenay (mit Stichbahnen nach Parksville und Port Alberni) mit Nanaimo. Die Strecke ist seit 2006 im Besitz der Island Corridor Foundation, einer Stiftung der ortsansässigen Indianerverbände und der Gemeinden, und wird als “Southern Railway of British Columbia“ geführt.
